Sivulile in isiXhosa means "We are Open" and expresses South African support for the global Open Access movement.
Sivulile is a loosely-defined group of individuals, centred in South Africa.
There are no official members of Sivulile.
Sivulile people actively participate in work on advocoacy, support, policy, technology and research as part of their core work functions in various organisations and institutions.
The Sivulile website is simply a place for coming together of ideas and a place to store information related to Open Access. The website is currently hosted by the Computer Science Department at UCT.
